Besides its mission to transfer knowledge, the Faculty of Engineering plays a vital role in technology transfer, which has proven to be very essential for the scientific community. The projects of collaboration, mainly conducted in partnership with national and international universities, were considered until the year 2009 one of the main factors in the development of the scientific research at the Faculty of Engineering. Those projects have contributed to the career development of around fifteen post-grads, the majority currently being members of UA’s academic community.
In 2009-2010 a lot of effort was put into setting up an independent structure for the development of scientific research. This research is the foundation for studying and implementing new technologies. It’s in this perspective that UA has launched its Research Laboratory TICKET.
TICKET is formed of 3 teams consisting of 14 researchers, all contribute to the development of research themes primarily related to the field of Information and Communication Technology. The Lab’s wide range of research themes deals with both theoretical and practical problems that come up.
Since its start, TICKET has adopted a cross-disciplinary policy to efficiently integrate all its members in developing contextualized research projects in order to enhance the scientific production. TICKET has sought to give the local community access to knowledge through scientific dissemination by organizing international workshops and conferences in collaboration with its partners.
In its plan for scientific development, TICKET tends to reorganize itself in order to deeply immerse in a world fully expanding. It aims in particular at:
- Strengthening its logistics,
- Restoring its infrastructure,
- Improving the expertise and the skills of its members,
- Controlling the internal and external scientific qualities,
- Conducting and participating in big research projects.
TICKET aims as well at encouraging technology transfer and tends more and more towards setting up long-term partnerships with the industry and companies.
